• EGID was established in June 1999, as a fully owned subsidiary of the EGX, with a total of four employees.
• In 2002, the company was exclusively responsible for providing local and international institutions and investors with EGX-focused market data feeds.

• In 2010, EGID signed an agreement with ISC (International Securities Consultancy) to provide the Kuwait Stock Exchange with consultancy services to undertake the UAT (User Acceptance Testing) of their new Trading and Surveillance systems provided by NASDAQ and SMARTS. EGID took part in the Acceptance, Testing, Training and Certification of these systems.
• In 2014, EGID became CMMI level II certified.
• In 2017, EGID was ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 certified.
• In 2017, EGID was PCI-certified.
• In 2019, EGID Developed the E-voting System (E-Magles) that became the first E-voting platform for General assemblies and board meetings accredited by GAFI & FRA.
• In 2020, Signed a protocol between EGX and GAFI providing the E-Voting platform.
• In 2020, EGID became ISO 47001 certified.
• In 2021, EGID Developed a Trading System for Commodities (EMX)
• In 2023, EGID became a fully owned subsidiary of the Egyptian Exchange (EGX)
